So, yeah.... about that.

So remember what I said about trying to keep a blog steady? Well, that lasted two fucking posts. Granted, re-reading them a year and a half later brought on a few chuckles, but needless to say, it was a short-lived experience. Can I do better? We'll see about that. Maybe with the proper motivation, I can keep things going for longer. I used to rant about petty, nonsensical irritants at my toy store. Well, the place went under along with the whole company. Apparently we were running the world's largest toy rummage sale, since we were left with all the bullshit toys that none of the other major retailers wanted. Why were we carrying Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer toys in 2009? The fuck, dude, the fuck?
So yeah, things are a bit different now. I've moved up to bigger and better things. I work in an electronic entertainment store now. Same asshole customers, different product. I mean, quite literally the same customers, because it's in the same shopping centre. Same pay, too, which is good, but now I'm hourly rather than salary, and get time-and-a-half for hours past 40. It's also a much smaller store, which means my stress level is much lower.
But, I'm rambling now. I can tell you more later. Let's see what we can do here.

I'm the Juggernaut, kid. And I don't stop for nuthin'.

I work as a manager of a toy store and generally, I like it. Sure, there are the odd complaints here and there with the company, and of course the usual idiots that shop there. But I like what I do, I like the people that I work with, and I get a nifty 30% discount.

One thing that really bugs me, though, is when we have to increase prices. Now I know I'm not literally responsible for such things, but it's really the only part of my job where I feel dejected and like I am performing a disservice to the community at large. I realize it takes oil to make plastic and that's why things are going up. We have to sticker each and every toy that comes in the store, meaning that when the prices change we have to re-do everything we had done in the past. Since we really can't do it after hours, we have to do it while the store is open, which means that the customers can see what's going on. We have enough trouble getting customers in the store already, but now that we have "NEW HIGHER PRICES" it's even less inviting.

Today we have probably around 1000 pieces to change the price tag on. I'm ready to say fuck it, let's just stick with the lower prices and fuck the price changes.

In this day and age, titles mean everything.

I pretty much held off on the blogging thing not because I thought my life was uninteresting, but simply because I couldn't come up with an appropriate, all-encompassing name for my blog. I mean, what would it be about? Would it follow my daily exploits as a human being simply to be recorded for posterity? Would it be about the things I like - comics, art, video games, toys? Or things I don't - stupid people, the sorry state of the world we're in, Melissa Etheridge? I didn't want to limit myself to any one of those things.

As many of you know, I am a certifiable A-class asshole. I could easily date Jennifer Aniston because I am lacking a sympathy chip. But, I clearly wouldn't, because, let's face it, she's used goods. But more to the point, there's a great deal of things in this world to complain about, and, unfortunately, just as many things to enjoy. So interpret the title as you wish. Maybe the devil is me. Maybe the devil is everyone else. Or someone in particular. It doesn't really matter, it's one of those things that you get what you put into it.

I am warning you in advance with this first post. The things said in here may be slightly unorthodox, but in reality, I am not racist, sexist, anti-Semitic, or any of those kinds of things. I simply like to stomp all over, eat, poop into a cup, eat it again, vomit it up, then eat that vomit/shit combo from that same cup, the line between modern civility and complete anarchy. If you drew the line somewhere, it will be a lot more than crossed. In fact, I genuinely hate people who really, sincerely believe that any true means of division between people come from things such as race, gender, religion or otherwise. Everyone knows it's how you act and how you treat others that makes your quality of a person.

So hopefully I will be able to keep up a blog for longer than I have in the past. Maybe not. But hopefully it will be a fun ride while it lasts.
